A strong believer in preventive health and a nature lover, Joel jogs, cycles, hikes, skis, and spends a great deal of time outdoors with his family when not directing the several technology companies he helms across Asia. Despite an active and busy lifestyle, meditating for three hours straight is also not a stretch. This ability to be “zen within” coupled with being a self-professed “perpetual optimist” has propelled Joel into a successful serial entrepreneur and investor in the software and telecommunication industry over the last two decades. Joel has grown Activate Interactive more than 10-fold after acquiring a controlling stake in 2015.
Joel’s personal mantra “Don’t exist. Live!” gets him going each morning. While the pressure of captaining a 200-strong team can be sky-high, Joel’s dynamism and perpetual optimism towers above the stress, for nothing keeps him awake at night.
