Activate Interactive Receives Two Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards

Activate team received two Singapore Business Review Technology Excellence Awards.

Singapore, 13 May 2022 – Singapore's leading IT solution and service provider, Activate Interactive Pte Ltd (“Activate”) has won two awards from the Singapore Business Review (“SBR”) in recognition of outstanding technological innovations.

The SGWorkPass Mobile Application and BackOffice System (“SG WorkPass”) won under the category: Digital ̶ Non-Profit or Government Organisations, and the Swab Registration System (“SRS”) won the award under the Startup – Healthcare Technology category.

SGWorkPass Mobile Application and BackOffice System

Activate was engaged to develop SGWorkPass to check for Singapore’s Work Pass (WP) validity with the mere simplicity of QR code scanning on the back of a WP card in 2017.

When COVID-19 hit Singapore’s shores, Activate was entrusted with the responsibility of enhancing the current SGWorkPass system and delivered the minimum viable product feature after about a month, including the necessary inter-governmental system integration of a few government agencies. Together with the ‘AccessCode’ and ‘Exit Pass’ functionalities, the application plays the important role in keeping our economy going with the help of our migrant worker friends, while preventing the spread of COVID-19 within their community.

With critical Migrant Worker information stored within, SGWorkPass is also built with high security in mind. In the Government Bug Bounty Programme, SGWorkPass was one of the few government systems under the White Hat Hacker attack that emerged with zero vulnerabilities discovered.

To date, SGWorkPass has more than three million downloads, a 4.5 rating on Android, a 3.6 rating on Apple, and connects to 15 service providers with real-time information verification for process automation.

Swab Registration System

During the outbreak of COVID-19, there was a pressing need to conduct swab tests regularly to facilitate early detection and swift isolation of individuals, thus minimising the risk of new COVID-19 clusters forming.

Activate was tasked to develop the SRS to support the COVID-19 swab test registration and facilitate the clients' booking of swab test appointments. The key features include registration and attendance taking for clients undergoing swab tests, providing different appointment bookings, and auto scheduling Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) appointments for company staff to undergo periodic swab tests. SRS also allows the uploading of Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and Antigen Rapid Test (ART) results and sending SMS and email notifications to clients, among other notable features.

SRS has supported more than 200 Quick Test Centres island-wide, 25 million appointment bookings, and onboarded more than 50,000 companies.

Joel Chin, Chief Executive Officer of Activate, said, “Thank you, SBR, for recognising our achievements; it is an honour and privilege. These awards affirm Activate’s readiness and flexibility in creating comprehensive and practical solutions that are proven to be effective, robust, and secure as we aim to continue supporting Singapore’s Smart Nation transformation. I would also like to thank the project teams for their hard work and efforts in bringing success to the company. We will continue to live up to our brand promise in impacting the lives of people around us and the environment we live in with technology.”
